Cavendish Self-Tie Silk Bow Tie

Cavendish is a self-tie bow tie in ribbed black silk grosgrain with two fully lined wings that hold their shape. The neckband adjusts on a metal slider, so one size fits a 37-47 cm collar.

How to Use

1. Tie it slightly loose, then tighten up to the collar for an even shape
2. Wear it with a wing or turndown collar for black tie
3. Practise the knot twice before the evening — a self-tie bow needs a rehearsal
4. Midnight blue works with a midnight dinner jacket; black with a black one

Care

• Dry clean only and store it flat in the keeper
• Straighten the wings by hand after untying so the lining does not take a set

• Do not press the grosgrain with a hot iron; the rib flattens into a shine
• A hand-tied bow is deliberately asymmetric — a perfectly even bow indicates a pre-tied construction
• Water marks the silk face permanently
